Privacy Policy

HanziAlarm collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, and makes no network requests. Nothing you do in the app is transmitted anywhere.

What the app stores

All of this stays on your device, inside the app's own storage:

• Your alarms — times, repeat days and labels
• Your settings — HSK levels, script, answer mode and dismissal rules
• Scheduling state for each card you've answered
• A review history: which cards you answered, when, how you scored, how long you took, and whether it was during an alarm

None of it leaves the device. Deleting the app deletes all of it.

Backups

Because this data lives in the app's normal storage, it is included in your device backups if you have iCloud Backup or encrypted local backups turned on. Those backups are handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by us, and we have no access to them.

Links out of the app

The Settings screen has links to CC-CEDICT and to the FSRS project. Tapping one opens it in your browser. Nothing about you is sent with it; those sites have their own privacy practices.

Crash reports

If you have turned on Share With App Developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements, Apple may give us aggregated crash and performance data. This is collected and anonymised by Apple, not by the app, and you can turn it off there at any time.

Children

The app is suitable for all ages and collects no data from anyone, including children.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it.
